Print area.

the part of a product the platform will print, and the size the file is built to

The part of a product a platform will put ink on, set by its template rather than by the machine. A file is sized to it: Printful's front area for select DTG products is 15″ × 18″, which replaced the legacy 12″ × 16″, and Printify's blog builds that canvas at 4500 × 5400 px at 300 DPI. Inside it sit two lines that matter more than its edge: the safe area for text and faces and, on cut products, the bleed. Outside it nothing counts: Printful treats a design placed outside the print area as a blank product. A file built to a different shape is cropped, padded or refused, which the sizing mode entry works through.
