Peak Season Has No Spec Sheet.

How does a print-on-demand shop get through a peak it cannot measure in advance?

The question: How does a print-on-demand shop get through a peak it cannot measure in advance?

In early November two of the biggest print-on-demand platforms had not yet published their Christmas cut-off dates. Adobe expects Cyber Week to carry 17% of US online holiday sales in five days, Printify warns of two to five extra production days in Q4, and USPS runs holiday prices into January. What helps is capacity that bends and seeing the floor live. Plus a Rate-it on peak robots and our correction on the EU's EUR 150 duty exemption.

Show notes and sources

No cut-off dates yet

Printful's holiday hub says "We'll share cutoff dates soon." Printify's guide says "Do not promise Christmas delivery from memory or last year's calendar" and refers to the official 2026 cut-off dates still to come. Both read on 5 and 7 November 2026.

Demand: five days, 17%

Adobe expects US online sales of $275.1 billion from 1 November to 31 December 2026, up 6.7%. Cyber Week is forecast at $47.5 billion, 17.3% of the season. Adobe says October sales "changed the shape of the holiday season".

Everything stretches

Printify: during sales events, product launches and Q4, production can take two to five business days longer. USPS: temporary holiday prices from 4 October 2026 to 17 January 2027, "to help cover extra handling costs".

Capacity that bends

Kornit's pay-per-use model: "AIC revenues increased approximately 103% year over year" in Q1 2026, and "A successful peak season helped drive full year impressions growth of 11%" in 2025.

Verdict 04: Libiao's peak robots

Partly true. Libiao does bring extra robots for the peak and takes them away after it; the "30–50" range is in no source, and the fleets on record are 80 and 430.

Our correction

The Atlas said the EU had announced the end of its EUR 150 customs-duty exemption without a date. Council Regulation (EU) 2026/382 applies EUR 3 of duty per item from 1 July 2026 until 1 July 2028. The cell was corrected on 5 November 2026 with a note.

Also in the season, not on air

UPS Ground Residential $0.75 and FedEx $0.80 peak surcharges for late November to late December, reported by Value Added Resource (the carriers' own pages refuse our fetcher). Royal Mail caps peak collections at "3 times the usual collection capacity", reported by ChannelX. Amazon plans "over 300,000" seasonal, part-time and full-time hires, reported by PPC Land.
