RIP.

raster image processor

Software that turns a graphic file into raster data for the heads: separations, white, color profile, halftoning. The ones a file-prep reader meets by name are CADlink Digital Factory on DTG and DTF, Wasatch SoftRIP and ErgoSoft, the two ChromaLuxe supports for sublimated panels, and the printer makers' own, such as Epson Garment Creator, Mimaki RasterLink and Roland VersaWorks. Caldera, neoStampa and ColorGATE are the other names on textile and wide-format floors. A setting in any of them can override what the file says, and the seller never sees which one ran.
