Mirror wrap.
canvas sides built by reflecting the outer strip of the image
A canvas edge option where the sides are filled by reflecting the outer strip of the front image, so the whole design stays on the face. The alternative is an image wrap, which Queensberry calls Natural and Printumo calls Stretched: the image itself folds round the bars and its outer band leaves the front. Printumo puts that loss at about 10% off each side on a 30×30 cm canvas and about 4% on a 100×100 cm one, and Queensberry calls natural wrap impractical for tightly cropped images. Mirror avoids the crop and brings its own trap: anything close to the template edge is reflected too, and Teelaunch warns that text there shows on the side of the canvas backwards. The canvas is printed, coated and stretched before anyone looks at the edge, so a reversed word on the side means a full reprint and a second stretch.
