Choke.

pulling the white underbase a few pixels inside the colour edge

A RIP setting that shrinks the white layer so it stops short of the colour edge, whether the colour is printed over the white on a DTG garment or under it on DTF film. CADlink Digital Factory states the arithmetic plainly: a choke of 2 pulls the underbase 2 pixels closer to the bounds of the job, and the same help page keeps one choke field for white drawn in the design and another for white generated in the queue, so setting one leaves the other untouched. DTF Dallas puts the usual default at 1-2 pixels. Two faults look alike. White showing evenly past every colour edge is the RIP's own layer, and the fix sits in the queue; a chalky ring only where the art had soft edges, glows or shadows comes from the file, because Printify describes a 30% transparent pixel getting a 100% solid white dot under it. Asking the customer for new art in the first case wastes a day, and widening the choke in the second changes nothing. Set it too wide instead and fine type and thin strokes lose their white entirely, so colour on a dark garment goes dull exactly where the detail is. Either way the halo is found after the press, on a garment or a transfer that is already spoiled.
