Both marks are real and both are cited at the wrong object. STANDARD 100 is “a label for textiles tested for harmful substances… from yarn to finished product” — it certifies the printed garment, and the certificate belongs to whoever made that garment, not to the ink in it. The mark an ink can carry is ECO PASSPORT, “designed for manufacturers and distributors of chemicals”. GOTS certifies no ink either: inks are Chemical Inputs, “assessed and approved… by a Scope 4 Approved Certifier” and issued a Letter of Approval that covers the liquid, not the shirt it is printed on. “Non-toxic” is the certifiers' own words against it — Global Standards states that “Approval does not mean that an input is free from all hazardous substances”.
